Hello! I’m very excited to share that I’ve written a post for HeadsUpGuys, which is an “online, anonymous resource specifically designed for men, and their families, to prevent the continued erosion of men’s mental health and deaths by suicide”. Men’s mental health is an oft-neglected topic within mental health broadly, and it’s wonderful to see such a powerful resource addressing this very issue. They’re based out of Canada, which makes me extra proud to be a Canadian.
One of their free offerings is stories from men with depression about their struggles and their triumphs. I found HeadsUpGuys last year and started reading many of their posts. They were inspiring and helpful. It’s always nice to know you’re not alone, and to learn about how others manage their depression. I now have the privilege of saying I wrote an article for them – check it out! I’ve written about the things I’ve done that have helped me deal with depression. I write extensively about my stay in a psychiatric ward and how I built a community there that helped during my stay and long after. If you think it could help someone in need, I hope you’ll share it. Thank you, as always, for being a part of my community.
If you’re coming here from the HeadsUpGuys post, welcome! I hope you found my post helpful. Feel free to look around and check out some of my posts. If you’re looking for a starting point, my Two Lenses One Me post is the way to go. Reach out to me with your thoughts- I love feedback!
